The questionnaire starts here

This is the first step of the gift assessment. You can complete it in whichever way suits you — fill it in online and save your progress, or download it to print and work through on paper.

Doing it online lets you save your answers and carry them through to scoring and community confirmation. The answer spaces below show how the worksheet is laid out — download it to fill in on paper, or create an account to complete it online and save.

Before you score yourself on any gift, take time to reflect honestly on these questions. Write your answers in the space provided. Some people find this reflection more revealing than the questionnaire itself.

1. Looking back over your life, where have you most consistently felt God's joy when serving others?

2. Of the good works of the New Testament (care for the vulnerable, generosity, hospitality, love, forgiveness and peacemaking, honest labour and integrity, bearing one another’s burdens, and witness and proclamation) — which most stir your heart? Which most consistently call you to action?

3. What needs in others, or what kinds of suffering, move you more deeply than they seem to move most people?

4. What have other mature Christians said about how God has used you to bless or build up others?

5. Looking at the eighteen gifts in the study, which two or three did you find yourself drawn to before any assessment? Which did you most resist or doubt? (Both reactions can be revealing.)

6. Spend a few moments in prayer asking the Holy Spirit to give you honesty, humility, and clarity as you complete this assessment. Write here any sense, impression, or scripture that comes to mind.
