Terms and Conditions

The terms of use and subscription conditions for the Sonrise Revival platform.

1. About these terms

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Sonrise Revival platform, website, and related tools (together, the “Platform”), operated by Sonrise Revival (“we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account or using the Platform you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

These Terms work alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information. Where a church or family invites you, your own use is still governed by these Terms.

2. The framework and the Platform

The Sonrise Revival framework — the teaching, documents, gift profiles, and all five volume PDFs — is free to read and download with an account. The Platform is the software that makes the framework workable: the interactive assessment, shared views, records, surveys, communications, and planning tools. Some of these tools are provided free; others require a paid subscription, as set out on our Pricing page.

The framework is a Bible-based teaching resource. It is offered to help churches and believers, and it does not replace Scripture, your own church’s authority, or professional advice.

3. Accounts and eligibility

  • You must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date. One account per person, by unique email.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use.
  • Anyone under 18 may take part only within a family account, with a parent or guardian’s consent (see section 8).
  • You may not share, sell, or transfer your account, or use another person’s account without authorisation. Proxy Support, where a consented helper assists a saint, is the one arrangement provided for acting on another’s behalf, and it operates under its own safeguards.

4. Subscriptions, billing, and renewal

Paid plans (Family, Elder, and Engaged Church) are billed through our payment partner, Stripe, at the prices shown on the Pricing page. Prices are in Australian dollars and may include or exclude taxes as indicated at checkout.

  • Subscriptions renew automatically each month or year until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; cancellation stops the next renewal and your access continues until the end of the paid period.
  • Elders subscribe personally — there is no central church account. Each elder is responsible for their own subscription. An Engaged Church subscription is separate and in addition to elders’ own subscriptions.
  • Church Sponsorship, where a church chooses to cover a member’s Family or Elder cost, is billed to the church; the member keeps full control of their account and can end the arrangement at any time.
  • We may change prices from time to time. We will give reasonable notice of a price change before it applies to your next renewal.
  • Failed or reversed payments may result in suspension of paid features until resolved.

5. Refunds and cancellation

When you first subscribe to a paid plan you have a 14-day window to change your mind: if you request a refund within 14 days of your first payment for that plan, we will refund that payment in full, no questions asked. The framework itself is always free, so there is no risk in trying the Platform.

After those first 14 days, payments already made are non-refundable:

  • Monthly plans — each monthly payment, once made, is not refundable. You can cancel at any time; cancelling stops the next automatic payment, and your access continues until the end of the month you have already paid for.
  • Annual plans — your annual payment, once made and outside the 14-day window, is not refundable. You can cancel at any time; cancelling stops the automatic renewal, and your access continues until the end of the year you have already paid for.

Nothing in this section limits any rights or remedies you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded (see section 15).

6. Consent, sharing, and member data

Your assessment content is private to you by default. Nothing is shared with your household or your eldership unless you give specific, opt-in consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time. Information shared with an eldership is read-only and cannot be exported. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.

If you are an elder or church leader, you agree to handle other members’ information only for the purposes they have consented to, to respect withdrawals of consent, and not to attempt to export, copy, or misuse it.

7. Children and young people

Anyone under 18 takes part only as a member of a family account, and a parent or guardian must give consent before a minor completes a survey or shares any information. A minor’s contact details are suppressed by design and are never shown to an eldership. Certain features (such as the Restoration Conversation) are closed to under-18s. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising a minor’s use.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Platform unlawfully, or to harass, abuse, harm, or deceive others.
  • Upload content that is unlawful, defamatory, hateful, sexually explicit, or that infringes another person’s rights.
  • Attempt to access data you are not authorised to see, circumvent security or access controls, or interfere with the Platform’s operation.
  • Scrape, harvest, or bulk-export data, or use the Platform to build a competing product.
  • Misrepresent your identity, your role, or your authority to act for a church, family, or another person.

The Platform is a discipleship and church-organisation tool, not a place for emergencies. It is never a substitute for reporting abuse, violence, or crime to the appropriate authorities.

9. Intellectual property

The framework, documents, gift profiles, templates, designs, and software are owned by Sonrise Revival or its licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to read the framework, download the volume PDFs, and use the templates and tools for your own and your church’s ministry use — including printing and adapting the templates for that purpose. You may not resell them, or present the framework or tools as your own work.

10. Your content and feedback

You keep ownership of the content you enter (your answers, reflections, journals, messages, and church data). You grant us the limited licence needed to store, process, and display that content to operate the Platform and provide the sharing you have chosen. Feedback or suggestions you send us may be used to improve the Platform without obligation to you.

11. The Engaged Church mark and public directory

The Engaged Church mark and the public directory listing depend on a church publishing accurate disclosures and maintaining them. You are responsible for the accuracy of what your church publishes. We may decline, suspend, or remove a listing or the mark where disclosures are inaccurate, out of date, misused, or where the Terms are breached. The mark is a sign of opt-in transparency, not an audit, endorsement, or certification of doctrine.

12. Third-party services

The Platform relies on third-party providers for authentication, database hosting, payments (Stripe), website hosting, and email and SMS delivery. Your use of those services through the Platform may also be subject to their terms. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control.

13. Disclaimers

The assessment and tools are a discernment aid to help you reflect and to help a church organise — they are not a decision that determines your rights, standing, or role, and are not professional spiritual, legal, financial, medical, or counselling advice. Results are meant to be weighed in prayer and in conversation with trusted believers and your church’s leaders.

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose beyond what is stated.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, and subject to section 15, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profit, or goodwill. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the Platform in the 12 months before the claim.

15. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where our goods or services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded, our liability for failing to meet such a guarantee is limited, at our option, to re-supplying the service or paying the cost of re-supply, except where the law does not permit such a limitation.

16. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Platform and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, misuse the Platform, or where required by law. On termination, your right to use the Platform ends; provisions that by their nature should survive (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and liability) continue. We handle your information after closure in line with the Privacy Policy.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make a material change we will update the effective date and, where appropriate, notify you or ask you to review and agree to the updated Terms. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

18. Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts. For any question about these Terms, please reach us through our contact page.
