The following Statement of Faith is offered as an example. The actual Statement adopted by the body shall be chosen by the founding Eldership and may be amended only in accordance with Part 11.
We believe…
In one God, eternally existing in three Persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — equal in power and glory.
In the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, who became fully human while remaining fully God; was born of the virgin Mary; lived a sinless life; died on the cross as the perfect substitutionary sacrifice for our sins; rose bodily from the dead on the third day; ascended to the right hand of the Father; and will return personally and visibly to judge the living and the dead and to consummate His Kingdom.
In the Holy Spirit, who convicts the world of sin, regenerates those who turn to Christ, indwells every believer, distributes spiritual gifts as He wills, and empowers the Body for the works of ministry.
In the scriptures, the Old and New Testaments, as the verbally inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God, the supreme rule of faith and life.
In salvation, by the grace of God, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ alone, apart from any human merit, evidenced by repentance, the new birth, and a transformed life.
In the Church, the Body of Christ, of which the local body is a particular expression — a gathered fellowship of believers under the spiritual oversight of qualified Elders, with the Diaconate serving practically, and the Five-Fold equipping ministry of Ephesians 4:11 active for the building up of the Saints to maturity.
In the ordinances Christ gave His Church, namely baptism (by water, in the Triune Name, of those who profess faith) and the Lord’s Supper (taken regularly by the Body in remembrance of Christ).
In the priesthood of all believers, — every Saint gifted, every Saint called, every Saint sent into the world as an ambassador of Christ.
In the return of the Lord Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the dead, the final judgement, the new heavens and the new earth, and life everlasting with the Lord for all who have trusted in Him.
