If you are reading this, something has drawn you here — a question, a hunger, a sense that there is more to life than what you have found so far. You are welcome exactly as you are. There is no test to pass and nothing to prove. This short piece simply tells the oldest and truest story there is, and ends with an invitation that is open to you.
You were made on purpose
You are not an accident. The scriptures open with a God who made the heavens and the earth, and then made human beings in His own image — to know Him, to walk with Him, and to share in His care of the world. In the beginning there was no distance between God and the people He had made. Life as it was meant to be was simply this: fellowship with the God who loves you.
“So God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them.” — Genesis 1:27
Something was broken
You do not need to be told that the world is not as it should be — you have felt it. The scriptures are honest about why. Humanity turned away from God, choosing its own way over His. That turning — what the Bible calls sin — broke the fellowship we were made for. It is the reason for the ache you cannot quite name: the sense of separation, the guilt that lingers, the death that shadows every life. This is not only a problem ‘out there’ in the world; it runs through every one of us.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” — Romans 3:23
But here is the heart of the whole story: God did not give up on us.
God came for you
God’s love for you does not depend on your believing it or earning it. He loved you while you were still far off. In the fullness of time He did the one thing we could never do for ourselves — He came. Jesus, God’s own Son, entered the world: He lived the life of perfect love we could not live, and then He went to the cross and died the death our sin deserved, in our place. Three days later He rose again, defeating death itself. The separation is healed not by our effort but by His sacrifice.

“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” — Romans 5:8
This is good news
The message of Jesus is not first of all a set of rules or a religion to perform. It is news — news of what God has already done. Forgiveness, a clean slate, and a restored relationship with God are not things you must climb a ladder to reach. They are a gift, offered freely, to be received. The God who made you is not standing at a distance with His arms folded; He is the father in the story who runs to meet the child coming home.
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast.” — Ephesians 2:8–9
How a person comes home
The way back to God is wonderfully simple, though never cheap — it cost Christ everything. It is this: to recognise that you are a sinner in need of saving; to believe that Jesus died for your sins and rose again; and to turn to Him, receiving Him as your Lord and Saviour. The scriptures promise that everyone who calls on Him is welcomed.
“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” — Romans 10:9
“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in.” — Revelation 3:20
