The Restoration Conversation, guided online — and private, even from you

Two things share a similar name, so it is worth being plain. “Restoring a Broken Marriage” above is the marriage-repair protocol.

The Restoration Conversation is for a single quarrel between any two people — a husband and wife, a parent and an adult child, two friends.

Anyone can fill it in on paper for free; the Family subscription adds the guided online version, where the platform walks the two of you through it.

• ✓Invite the other person by email, and each of you prepares on your own before a word is said
• ✓What you write in preparation stays private to you — what you decided it meant, your own part, your real motive. Only the answers the tool asks you to share are ever shown to them
• ✓Step through the nine rounds together, ending with each of you ticking whether it is settled
• ✓A conversation is confidential to the two people in it. It does not appear in the shared household view, and a household owner or guardian cannot see it — unlike the rest of a member’s journey
• ✓Either person can withdraw what they wrote, or delete the whole conversation, alone, without giving a reason
• ✓You can invite anyone, and they can take part on a free account — you never need a subscription to be reconciled to someone
• ✓Under-18s cannot open or join one. It is for adults, and it is never a procedure for abuse, violence or any crime

Parents & guardians — full oversight of your children

Because a child takes part only inside your household, a parent or guardian can walk their whole journey with them — openly and safely.

• ✓Open a child’s full journey, read-only — their gifts, calling, ranked results, every reflection and journal, their community confirmations and their Season History — so you can revisit each step together (you can read, but never change, their work)
• ✓The household owner is always a guardian, and can appoint a second parent as a guardian too, so both of you oversee the children; the owner can remove a guardian at any time
• ✓Everyone with oversight is named on the child’s page, and the child is told — as they write — that a parent or guardian can read it, so nothing is hidden from anyone
• ✓A child can’t leave the household on their own; a parent or guardian releases them (for example, when they become an adult), which hands full control of their account back to them — a deliberate, confirm-first step

How it works

Each member keeps their own free Individual account; the Family subscription simply adds the shared layer on top.

Members join the family group by invitation and consent, and that consent is revocable at any time. A family counts as one invite when an elder invites you.

Children & young people

Anyone under 18 takes part only as a member of a family account — never on their own — and a parent or guardian must give consent before a minor completes a survey, including any church-run survey. A child has age-appropriate, restricted visibility: they can see and develop their own gifts, but cannot view the adult couple/compare view or other members’ private content.

For a child, a parent or guardian can also open the child’s own journey in full, read-only (see “Parents & guardians” above), and this is disclosed to the child as they write.

Couple and courtship content is never shared beyond the two people involved — not with children, siblings, guardians, or the church. The Restoration Conversation is closed to under-18s entirely: a child cannot open or join one.

If something has happened that a young person needs to talk about, the platform points them to a parent, a guardian or another trusted adult.
